Gluon mine
Any energy source can be turned into a bomb or a mine. All it takes is releasing the stored energy at once. That is exactly what happens in a gluon mine. As the enemy approaches, the reactors go to full power, and at a certain distance from the ship the Gluon destabilizer triggers, releasing all available energy. The mine is fitted with a cover device so that during "warm-up" it cannot be detected on radar.
