Stranger fighter

The first such ship was discovered on the surface of a planet. The entire population was evacuated, and the ship was quickly surrounded by other fighters. After two weeks of observation, scientists and engineers were allowed to approach it. In many ways the ship resembles technology produced by humanity. There was even a theory that this was an ordinary fighter which, in the distant future, left hyperspace at superluminal speed and was thrown into the past. The technology was very hard to explain, yet this find allowed Confederation science to make major advances in spacecraft construction. Models and blueprints remain part of a secret doctrine, but finds of such ships no longer surprise anyone.
