Collection of Frequently Asked Questions

Where to view resources?
Planetary buildings: Capsule, Power station, Warehouse
Orbital buildings: Trading station, Orbital warehouse, Solar power plant, Geological satellite
The "Use" tab.

Can you attack your home planet?
The home planet and home orbit are under Confederation protection. These objects cannot be attacked. You also cannot raid another player's Trading station. You cannot attack any ship in orbit of a green planet either.

Where to get credits?
Credits can be earned by completing quests or by trading.

Where to get Confederates?
In the "Character" menu or in the "Trade" menu — "Confederation" there is a link to buy Confederates.

What to do if you run out of hydrogen?
If you miscalculated your fuel, flew far from planets, and now cannot return, you need a tanker. Take any free ship, refuel it with hydrogen, and fly to the ship that ran out of fuel. When the ships are at the same point, merge them into a fleet. From then on, fuel is consumed from the tanker. If you have no free ship, you can buy one from the Confederation; a ship bought from the Confederation appears at your Trading station.

How to refuel a ship?
To refuel a ship you need fuel. For movement within a system this is hydrogen; for a hyper jump, uranium. To refuel a ship from a planet, the ship must be on the planet and not mothballed. In the "Warehouse" tab the ship is shown in the upper left. In the lower left are all available destinations (the planet itself is selected by default). In the lower right select the fuel (hydrogen or uranium), then enter the amount in the middle window and press "Move". Or after selecting the fuel you can press "Move all" — the maximum possible amount will be moved.

What do I get for completing quests?
By completing quests you raise your status in society; by refusing a quest or completing it incorrectly you lower your status. A negative status means you are not a law-abiding citizen of the galaxy.

Fleet
To merge ships into a fleet, select several ships that are in the same place. You can use the CTRL or Shift key. The order list will show "Merge into fleet". If the order is missing, the ships are in different places.

Radar
Any ship with a radar installed can find other ships and show them on the system map. The ship with the radar must be at a free point in space (not in a planet's orbit). After that, while moving in the system you will see your ships (marked in green) and other ships (marked in yellow).

Ship refuses to fly
A ship needs fuel to move. Flights in normal space require hydrogen; hyperspace requires uranium. Each ship consumes a different amount of fuel. When you select a destination, if the amount is highlighted in green there is enough fuel for a round trip, if yellow there is not enough for the return, if red there is not enough for the move.

What does the nickname color in chat mean?
Nickname color shows the player's status: white — neutral, green — positive, red — negative. With a negative status, a sum appears next to the nickname that the Confederation will pay to anyone who attacks that player's objects. Nominally such a player is classed as a pirate.

Lost ships
There are lost ships in the galaxy. On average, 4 ships are lost every standard day. Anyone who finds such a ship can claim it. Your onboard computer names these ships Abandon. The reasons a ship was lost are usually unknown; it may have been a pirate attack.

Ship capture
During combat you can capture an enemy ship. To do this you must be a pirate (status below zero) or study the Boarding skill (how to study it is described in the "Training" notes).

How to capture a Tritite?
To capture one you must study the "Boarding" skill or be a pirate. After capturing a Tritite it must be mothballed; the easiest way is at your Trading station, especially since Tritites consume no fuel to move. After mothballing, deliver the Tritites to the surface in the hold of any ship. Then, using a Nanodispenser, disassemble the Tritite and obtain Tritium.

Hotkeys
Space - upgrade a building.
Enter - the main action (for a quarry and similar buildings this starts mining; for factories it starts production, and so on).
Esc - on a planet or in orbit, stops the current job; while plotting a galaxy route, cancels the entire route.

Galaxy flight
Flying directly is expensive. To spend less fuel, use stars as waypoints: the route is built automatically. There is no limit on the number of waypoints, but the autopilot only plots part of the route (see the Helmsman skill for details).
