Gases do not have high density, but stable artificial structures can be created. Such structures were first mistakenly taken for crystals, but when heated, the gas is easily released from the structure. The slow rate of gas release was the only thing that prevented using the crystals as ship fuel. However, gas is mainly transported in packed form.
