Hyperactive engine
During experiments with strong magnetic and gravitational fields, scientists discovered that space can abruptly change dimensionality: first five-dimensional space was achieved, then still higher numbers of dimensions. While the distortion lasts, the maximum speed of a mass increases; in seven-dimensional mode the speed limit is effectively lifted. The hyperactive engine is built on this principle: a brief jump in dimensionality and a displacement, after which the ship emerges into ordinary space already at rest.
Role: a universal dimensional drive for light and medium ships — it provides both
in-system flight and
hyper jumps between systems. That is why fighters, corvettes, scouts and similar ships do not carry a separate intergalactic unit: a hyperactive engine is enough (often paired with a Diffusion engine for hydrogen thrust). Hydrogen and uranium consumption is set by the ship's characteristics (planet_cnt / hyper_cnt).
Blueprint upgrade to an Intergalactic engine separates hyper mode into a heavy unit of its own for capital ships, where in-system and hyper travel are split across different parts (Diffusion engine + Intergalactic engine).
